高西先生（西高等学校）からご案内が来ましたので、

Hello, Mets members!

This month’s presenter was to be Mr. Usuda, but he cannot
make it because of his special course for his future students.
Hopefully, we can listen to his talk at another Hakodate Mets.
Actually, he told me the circumstances about two weeks ago.
So, I feel sorry for my very late announcement.

In any case, I have to think up this month’s content.
My answer is as follows.

Classes among English Teachers-

This time, why don’t we share our ideas? If possible,
please bring your own ideas.
5 or 10 minutes activities are fine.

Let’s have fun sharing and trading our ideas.
It will be a fun and eventful evening.
I hope we'll get together and enjoy sharing ideas and
talking a lot!

函館市中学校英語弁論大会のご案内

高円宮杯第６７回全日本中学校英語弁論大会の第２７回道南地区予選大会です。
小学校および高校の先生方のご参加をご期待申し上げます。

１．期日　平成２７年１０月１７日（土）　開会式　９：３０　終了　１２：００
２．会場　北海道教育大学函館校　第１５番講義室

上靴等は不要。会費は無料。

弁論大会参加者は１７名です。

10/4（日）10：00～、北海道国際交流センター（HIF）内で海外渡航に関するイ
ベントを開催致します。
具体的なことはまだ何も決めてないけど、いつか、そのうち海外へ行きたいと
思っている方でも参加可能です。当日はネパールから買ってきたお菓子とチャイ
を飲みながら、留学や国際ボランティアのお話を聞くことが出来ます。入退室自
由、個別カウンセリングのみのご参加もOKです！

今回は、東京から㈱留学ジャーナルのカウンセラーと、世界中に語学学校を展開
するEF札幌オフィスのカウンセラーが、このイベントの為だけにはるばる函館へ
来てくれます。本来なら札幌や東京へ行かないとお会いできない経験豊かなカウ
ンセラーですので、是非生徒さんや知人の皆様にご案内頂き、この機会にプロか
ら情報収集して欲しいと思います。
お金の面で留学を諦めてしまう学生も多いと思いますが、学生のうちだからこそ
活用できる奨学金もあります。夢を実現するために、まずはどんな些細なことで
もご相談しに来て頂けると嬉しいです。

また、2015年4月25日に発生した大地震により、ネパールおよび周辺国では甚大
な被害が出ました。「Walk with Nepal」プロジェクトでは、なかなか支援の手
が届かない地域でのボランティア活動を行っています。今月ボランティアに参加
した函教大生や、当センタースタッフの尾崎が現地の様子を報告致します。

Hello, METS members!



This Month's Contents

Mr. Adam Smith(Hakodate Future University)



" The AO and Suisen University Entrance Exams "



At the next METS meeting I will talk about high school
students that have been accepted into universities through
the AO or Suisen entrance exams.

Depending on the university, this can be confirmed many months
before the next academic year starts.

Students who think that they no longer need to study can distract
classmates preparing or other entrance exams, and they may find it
difficult to adjust to the demands of university study when classes
finally start in April.

During the meeting I will show you a 'pre-enrolment English course'
that is available to future Future University students on a voluntary
basis.

Although it is primarily designed to help students to prepare for
university life, it is taken by students while they are still at high
school.

I would welcome the comments of high school teachers who teach or
have taught such students, so that the course can be of benefit
to everyone.

After the fruitful meeting, I’d like to have a party with all participants
and enjoy eating, drinking and talking a lot around Goryokaku.

The concept of our meeting is invariably one that is made by and for the
participants. As such, we invite all of you to generously share your
ideas, for therein lies the secret to our success. Of course, each
fruitful meeting is followed by a party where all can eat, drink and talk
to their hearts content. So please come and join in. New faces are always
welcome, so why not bring a friend?
