函館METS（２月）のご案内

Hello, Mets members!

Thanks to Nakagawa Jun sensei’s wonderful workshop,
we could learn a lot of creative lesson ideas.

This month content will be also very valuable to you
for your English teaching.

“Welcome to My English Class!”

This time, you would be a student of two great teachers
at Hakodate Mets.

Each will conduct an English lesson showing us some of
their ideas,activities for English classes.

So, you can get clues for the next class from a student’s
perspective. Why don’t we come to Iai and find something
new?

1st instructor

Ms. Miku Oba(Mori Senior High School)

Hello. I’m Miku Oba. This is the first time for me to show my class.

I’m nervous now, but I decided to challenge it.
I’ll show you one of my classes. This is English Expression I for
third grade students.

It’s a team-teaching class with our ALT.
There were only 6 girl students in the class.

Most of them will not go to school after their graduation, so they
didn’t have to study for the entrance exam.

They were not good at speaking English, but they were always try to
speak English positively.

Also, the class has a few members, so we could try a lot of activities.
In some classes, we watched a short movie and made a skit.

I’ll show you how to make it.


2nd teacher

Mr. Peter Keen(Iai Girl's Senior/Junior High School)

When doing communicative activities (speaking activities, writing
activities, games etc.) there are always some students who finish quickly
and then start speaking in Japanese.

At such times I am usually busy helping (motivating..?) the slower groups,
so I can't get to the fast groups to explain the next activity.

I have a few activities I use to keep them busy and keep them motivated to
speak English.

Today we will try some of these activities.

Also, I will show you my new goal badges that I use to show the students
the goal / purpose of each activity.


For this month's Hakodate Mets, Nakagawa Jun sensei and some other
Sapporo Mets members are to come down to Hakodate to join us.

Let's have a fruitful and fantastic night together.

Place: Iai High School (Hakodate-shi Suginami-cho)
Entrance is on the left side of the building.

Time: 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.


After the fruitful meeting, I’d like to have a casual party somewhere in
Goryokaku.
