“TED talks”
I will explain how TED talks can be a useful personal learning resource
(for teachers) and possibly a good learning resource for students.
Date: Sat, Oct 25th
Place: Iai Girls’ High School (Hakodate-shi Suginami-cho)
Entrance is on the left side of the building.
Time: 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
After the fruitful meeting, I’d like to have a party with all participants
and enjoy eating, drinking and talking a lot around Goryokaku.
If you are attending the meeting, RSVP by e-mail by 24th of October (Fri).
函館地区高等学校英語教育研究会主催の研修会のご案内
I have an announcement to make about the English seminar for English
education held in Hakodate. Our school, Hokkaido Hakodate Nishi SHS, is in
charge of Hakodate High School English Education Society of this school
year. So, we organize the seminar, too.
This time, we invite a guest from Hiroshima as a lecturer, who teaches at
Hiroshima university-affiliated junior/senior high school. His name is Shin
Ikeoka. He will tell us about how he’s raised autonomous learners for
English and what high school JTE should do to collaborate with junior high.
I would like as many people as possible to attend to the lecture. If it is
convenient for you to come, please let me know.
Date: Tue. November 4th
Place: Hokkaido Hakodate Nishi High School
* The school building stands on the hill at the bottom of Mt. Hakodate.
When you go up Hachiman-zaka, which is a famous big slope in front of our
school, you can see the sign of our school name, which is actually written
in kanji;北海道函館西高等学校.

12:00 - 13:00 Lunch Break
13:00 - 13:10 Eiken Presentation for Advertisement

The concept of our meeting is invariably one that is made by and for the
participants. As such, we invite all of you to generously share your
ideas, for therein lies the secret to our success. Of course, each
fruitful meeting is followed by a party where all can eat, drink and talk
to their hearts content. So please come and join in. New faces are always
welcome, so why not bring a friend?
