Hello, METS members!

I suppose many of you might be worried about this meeting,
Hakodate Mets because of the long absence since July Mets.

But, we would like to restart it form this month, October.
Some people say, “Long absence alters affections in a negative
way.”

However, we could say, “Long absence brings yearning for the
opportunity.” So, why don’t we get together for the first
time for a while?

“Context Based Language Practice and Creative Natural Way
of Drilling”



I've taught English in lower secondary school for 7 years, and
always been thinking that "Context" is one of the most important
factors even in the first year English classes.

Context is the idea based on "Focus on Form" or "CLIL." It is to
set up the situation for natural language use and accelerate the
learners’ motivation.

For example, when a man says to you "Do you have money?" the meaning
of this sentence differs depending on a variety of Contexts; who the
man is; who you are; what time it is; where this conversation takes
place; how the man speaks to you... etc.

I would like to share the idea of Context based language practice and
create natural way of drilling together.



Date: Sat, Oct 22nd

Place: Iai Girls’ High School (Hakodate-shi Suginami-cho)

Entrance is on the left side of the building.

Time: 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.



After the fruitful meeting, I’d like to have a party with all
participants and enjoy eating, drinking and talking a lot around
Goryokaku.

If you are attending the meeting, RSVP by e-mail by 21st of October (Fri).



The concept of our meeting is invariably one that is made by and for the
participants. As such, we invite all of you to generously share your
ideas, for therein lies the secret to our success.

Of course, each fruitful meeting is followed by a party where all can eat,
drink and talk to their hearts content. So please come and join in.

New faces are always welcome, so why not bring a friend?
