“Activities to Give Various Forms of Feedback to Ss”
Recently I have been thinking a bit about how to give better feedback to my
students. Good regular feedback has been found to be one of the most
effective ways to help students learn. It helps them to become autonomous
learners, and to think about their own learning strategies. Of course, I
give my students “teacher feedback,” but peer-to-peer feedback and
self-assessment are other ways of efficiently giving feedback, pushing
students to think about their own work more deeply.
At the next METS meetings, I am going to look at some activities I use to
give various forms of feedback to students in my classes. I would also like
to get your advice on how to improve these, and ideas for other such
activities. If you have something useful, please bring it along! I need
feedback, too!!
Date: Sat, August 29th
Place: Iai Girls’ High School (Hakodate-shi Suginami-cho)
Entrance is on the left side of the building.
Time: 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
After the fruitful meeting, I’d like to have a party with all participants
and enjoy eating, drinking and talking a lot around Goryokaku.
If you are attending the meeting, RSVP by e-mail by 28th of August (Fri).
The concept of our meeting is invariably one that is made by and for the
participants. As such, we invite all of you to generously share your
ideas, for therein lies the secret to our success. Of course, each
fruitful meeting is followed by a party where all can eat, drink and talk
to their hearts content. So please come and join in. New faces are always
welcome, so why not bring a friend?
