Hello, METS members!


We teachers are extremely busy with year-end stuffs and various
kinds of parties at this time of year. Many of you might have
such a party this weekend.
So, we’d like to advance the time to start Hakodate Mets so that
you can join both if you want.

In this weekend meeting, Mr. Ryohei Yoshida, a teacher of Hakodate
Fishery High School, will give us a workshop and bring a topic for
discussion. His comment is as follows.



This Month's Contents

Mr. Ryohei Yoshida(Hakodate Fishery High School)



Presentation Title: “Something that we are likely to dismiss as an English
teacher ”

I've been teaching English for twenty-five years at 4 different high
schools. Three years ago I was transferred to a vocational high school,
which is free from the pressure of university entrance exams.

Meeting with the students who don't care about the entrance exam reminds
me of some important things. I think they are easy, pretty basic things
for most of English teachers in Japan.

I dare to confront some tiny, but significant topics.



After the fruitful meeting, I’d like to have a party with all participants
and enjoy eating, drinking and talking a lot. I look forward to seeing all
of you.



The concept of our meeting is invariably one that is made by and for the
participants. As such, we invite all of you to generously share your
ideas, for therein lies the secret to our success.

Of course, each fruitful meeting is followed by a party where all can eat,
drink and talk to their hearts content. So please come and join in.
New faces are always welcome, so why not bring a friend?
